Kindness can be simple, and impactful. Join me on a 7-day challenge to create a space for kindness through self-care, building a community, and random acts of kindness.
Ready?
Let’s Go!
Day 1: Feed Your Mind with Positivity
Your assignment today is to build a list of positive words and affirmations to speak to yourself daily. Your words have power and you should use them wisely, especially when dealing with self-talk.
One of my favorite affirmations is “You are so, so, so very loved.”
Write down an affirmation that feels good for you, and stick with it!
Day 2: Do the Positive Things That Make You Happy
Hey you, Yes you…It’s time to take care yourself.
Your assignment today is to fill your day with things that bring you joy.
For example, one thing that brings me joy is listening to a book on audible. So, today I’ll commit to listening to my audible book for 30 minutes.
What will you do to bring yourself joy today?
“Let your joy be in your journey—not in some distant goal.”
—Tim Cook
Day 3: Count Your Blessings
Your assignment today is to write down at least three people you are grateful for today, and why they make you happy. Share your gratitude with the three people you listed below and fill their hearts with your kind words and appreciation.
For example, today I will express gratitude to my husband for his support, my sister for her unconditional love, and my kids for making me smile even on the toughest days.
Day 4: Random Act of Kindness
Your assignment today is to try one random act of kindness.
You get to choose today.
How will you show kindness today?
Keep in simple. Here are a few ideas of acts of kindness:
- Send a kind note
- Send flowers
- Check on a neighbor
- Call a loved one
- Donate to your local food pantry
Recently, a good friend sent my family money through Venmo to cover dinner. It was truly a kind gesture and so appreciated. Today I will pay it forward and cover the cost of dinner for a family.
Day 5: Reach Out and Connect
Your assignment today is to connect with someone! Is there a friend or colleague that you have wanted to connect with before the COVID crisis?
Even though you’re socially distanced, it’s important to nurture these relationships.
Day 6: Give Your Full Attention
Your assignment today is to practice stillness. One of the easiest ways to show kindness is by being present, physically and mentally. Put away your devices and give people your attention when you are with them.
Day 7: Rest
Your assignment today is to find time for rest. Getting enough sleep is essential for helping you maintain optimal health and well-being. When it comes to your health, sleep is as vital as regular exercise and eating a balanced diet. (Read more at https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325353.php)
